There was no title on the card so I took the liberty of giving it a name.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups grated cheese*
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine ((softened))
  • 1/2 tsp** dry mustard
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder or onion salt
  • 1 can jalapeno peppers***
  • 5 slices bread

Method

  1. Put cheese, butter or margarine, mustard powder, egg and onion powder in blender and mix well for 30 seconds.
  2. Remove from blender and add jalapenos. Mix well.
  3. Spread mixture over 5-6 slices of bread.
  4. Cut crusts off bread and cut slices of bread into cubes.
  5. Spread cubes over a baking sheet and cover top and sides.
  6. Bake in a 350°F oven until cheese is melted and slightly browned.
  7. Remove cover in last 5 minutes to brown if needed.

Recipe Notes

*type of cheese was not specified, but I'd use cheddar, marble or jack-cheddar.

**mustard powder, I'm guessing.

*** no size can specified but the average seems to be between 300-400 gram cans. I would personally probably opt for fresh jalapenos or frozen but that's because I'm not a fan of pickled jalapenos.

I find the addition of egg in this recipe to be odd. I'm guessing it is to help the cheese and spices stick to the bread a bit more.

Card says "can be frozen"--I assume after they're cooked.
